WELCOME

The Netherlands Society for Endocrinology (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Endocrinologie, NVE) and the Dutch Neurofederation (Nederlandse Neurofederatie) started in 1997 the organization of an annual Dutch Endo-Neuro Meeting, supported by the past working groups of Dutch Medical Research Foundation (NWO-MW). The purpose of these meetings is to offer a national forum for scientific exchange among the research fields of endocrinology, neuroendocrinology, basic and clinical neuroscience and psychiatry.  The scientific program consists of a series of sessions on high standing scientific developments including many introductory lectures by internationally acknowledged foreign and Dutch scientists. The meeting not only aims to provide an opportunity for junior scientists to discuss results with senior scientists in an informal atmosphere, but also to give the opportunity to become informed about recent developments. Above societies were very pleased that the meetings have become increasingly popular. Whereas the First Dutch Endo-Neuro Meeting had an attendance of approximately 240 participants, over 400 participants were welcomed at the Third Dutch Endo-Neuro Meeting in 1999.

The present organizers invite you to attend the Fourth Dutch Endo-Neuro Meeting which will be held between Monday June 5 and Wednesday June 7, 2000. The meeting will again take place in the lovely situated and comfortable Parkhotel 'De Branding' in Doorwerth. As for the past meetings, emphasis of the program will be on endocrinology during the first day, on neurosciences during the third day, and during the second day on the many interactions of both disciplines. Posters sessions on endocrinology and neurosciences follow this schedule.

The scientific program is largely based on proposals received by the organizing committee. The proposers have been asked to act as moderators, thereby greatly contributing to the organization of the meeting. The organizers are very grateful for their efforts in making the meeting a success. Four keynote speakers are scheduled in the program presenting respectively the 'Laqueur' lecture, 'Maurius Tausk' lecture, 'Neurofederatie' lecture and 'Hersenstichting' lecture. The meeting  will again host satellite meetings of study groups of Biorhythm and on Neuro-oncology and Neuro-immunology.

You are invited to register for participation through the registration form on this web site, and to make a choice for the days of attendance fitting your interest in the program. Those who wish to present a poster on their research are invited to do so and to submit an abstract of their work via e-mail.

The organizers hope to welcome you as participants on the Fourth Dutch Endo-Neuro Meeting 2000 (EN2000), so that a dynamic, fruitful and worthwhile scientific exchange can be reached in and between our endocrinology and neuroscience research fields.
